On Wednesday the 8th of November 2017, the Hon. Stephen Dawson MLC, Minister for Disability Services and Environment, and the Hon. Cassie Rowe, MLA, visited the new Lifeplan Centre in Welshpool. The visit was to officially present the successful Lotterywest Grant to the Lifeplan team.

Lifeplan CEO Glen Young said, “It was a momentous occasion for the Lifeplan team”, who have been operating in Perth for the past 18 years.
“Lifeplan are extremely proud of the work we do, providing disability and mental health support services to a diverse range of people throughout the Perth metro area.”
“It was an honour to welcome to our new Lifeplan center both Minister Dawson and Cassie Rowe MLA, and to show them first-hand the wonderful impact that Lotterywest has had on the accessibility features of our new building. We couldn’t be happier with the results!”
The new works include installation of entry and exit ramps, to facilitate wheel chair access. Along with widening of doors and moving of walls, to make the entire space more accessible.
Lifeplan Operations and Service Development Manager Mark Ravenscroft, described the brand new changing facilities, which were also established, as part of the Lotterywest grant.
“Thanks to Lotterywest, we now have a completely new toilet, change room, and shower facility. The new electric ceiling mounted hoist and change table, in an expansive room provides people with disability a safe and dignified space to utilise.”

It was a terrific turnout for the event and a fantastic opportunity to show some of our families our new centre. A big thank you to all those who came along to share a fun morning tea, and a real milestone for Lifeplan.
Thank you Lotterywest!
